Dr Mikael Kubista, founder and CEO of the TATAA Biocenter and head of the Department of Gene Expression at the Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of SciencesCORALVILLE, IA ( September 03,2015)– Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) will be hosting awebinar to help researchers get the mostout of gene expression studies that analyzelarge numbers of samples. Entitled ‘ High throughput qPCR: tipsfor analysis across multiple plates’ , the webinar will be presented by Dr Mikael Kubista, founder and CEO of the TATAA Biocenter and head of the Department of Gene Expression at the Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The webinar will be heldat two different times,9am and 1pm Central Standard Time (UTC -5) onSeptember 16, 2015.
Real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) is a preferred platform for high throughput gene expression profiling, where large numbers of samples are characterized for hundreds of expression markers. Technically, the qPCR measurements are performed in the same way as when classical qPCR is used to analyze only a few targets per sample, but the higher throughput introduces additional sources of potential confounding variation that must be controlled. Dr Kubista will describe how high throughput qPCR profiling studies are designed, moving on to cover assay optimization and validation, sample quality testing, and how to merge multi-plate measurements into a common analysis. Dr Kubista will also talk about how to cost-effectively measure and compensate for background due to genomic DNA.
