Small and medium-sized enterprises do not only shape the economy – they are the economy! Small and medium-sized enterprises have created millions of new sustainable jobs in industry, trade, services, and handcraft - virtually unnoticed by the public. For this reason, the "Grand Prix for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" was advertised for the 21st time. No other economic competition in Germany receives such an enormous response as the "Grand Prix for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" awarded by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation based in Leipzig. The award does not bear any monetary value. For the participating companies, it is all about the honor, public acknowledgment, and confirmation of their performance.
The awards gala for the competing regions of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, and Thuringia took place on September 26 in Würzburg. More than 400 entrepreneurs and numerous invited guests participated, including Offenburg-based Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau GmbH. The manufacturer of high precision thermoregulation was honored as one of the five "finalists" from Baden-Württemberg, prevailing against strong competitors. 5,009 small and medium-sized enterprises were nominated for the 2015 competition Germany-wide – this is a new record in the competition's 21-year history. Huber was nominated by the City of Offenburg and Volksbank Offenburg eG.
